Friends -

I’m Linda Trujillo and I’m a proud Democrat running for Senate District 24 in Santa Fe.  Thank you for visiting my website!

I’d like to share with you my vision for our community.

As a former Head Start teacher and the first person in my family to graduate from college, I know firsthand how education can impact a person’s life. It stops the cycle of poverty and opens doors to fresh paths forward. When we invest in education, we’re investing in families so they can achieve more. I was honored to serve on the Santa Fe Public School Board while we built two new schools and expanded early childhood education in Santa Fe.

I’m also an attorney with a background in public administration. While serving as State Representative, I championed legislation to create the Early Childhood Education and Care Department (ECECD), increase cultural and linguistic educational support, and boost teacher salaries. I also sponsored legislation to protect our democracy, support healthcare professionals, transition to green energy, and provide senior citizens with access to college courses for $5 per credit.

Throughout my career, I have been dedicated to public education, advocating for healthcare professionals, and protecting access to reproductive healthcare. Most recently at New Mexico’s Regulation and Licensing Department, I built the regulatory framework for adult-use cannabis while reducing unnecessary red-tape for professional licensing.

My priorities for the State Senate are to:

  • Expand affordable housing

  • Protect reproductive rights

  • Increase access to healthcare and high quality providers

  • Enact common sense gun laws

When real people are kept top of mind for every policy decision, we can solve problems and move forward in positive, productive ways.

I hope to earn your support and your vote on June 4, 2024.

Warm regards,
